In the medieval Arthurian romances the Holy Grail is the cup used by Christ at the Last Supper. Today it stands for any unattainable ideal. However, there are in existence several objects which claim to be the actual cup used at the Last Supper, in short the real Holy Grail. These grail objects are steeped in legend and local tradition, in the imaginative history of the Knights Templars and other secret societies.
